Add an expense

An Expense is any cost your group shares — a dinner, a tank of fuel, the weekly shop. Adding one takes seconds, and Donget does the math.

Add an expense

  1. Open the Group the cost belongs to.
  2. Tap the + button, then Add expense.
  3. Enter a short description — like Groceries or Taxi.
  4. Type the amount.
  5. Choose who paid. It’s you by default, but you can pick any Member.
  6. Choose who shares the cost. Everyone is included by default; tap to add or remove Members.
  7. Tap Save.

Donget instantly updates the Balances so everyone can see what they owe and what they’re owed.

Choose how it’s split

By default an Expense is split equally between the Members who share it. Need something different? Open the split options to divide it:

  • Equally between everyone selected.
  • By exact amounts for each person.
  • By shares — handy when some people use more than others.
  • By percentage.

Use another currency

Travelling? Enter the Expense in whatever currency you paid in. Donget converts and totals everything so your Balances always make sense, whatever the Group’s main currency is.

Tip: Add Expenses the moment they happen. Everything syncs in realtime, so the whole Group sees who paid for what as you go — no more trying to remember it all at the end of a trip.

Edit or delete later

Made a mistake? Open the Expense and tap Edit to fix any detail, or Delete to remove it. Balances recalculate right away, and everyone in the Group sees the change in realtime.

Adding Expenses is free and unlimited — there’s no daily cap and no ads getting in your way.
